Beauty Items I’m Lovin’

For those of you who don’t know me, I am an enthusiastic beauty product consumer.  I have a serious adoration for skincare and beauty products….(sigh)…so fun.  So for my first post on this topic, I will fill you in on some tools and products I am LOVIN’ right now…

I abandoned this girl for a while but in the last week I started using it in my daily skin care routine and I am reminded that the results are incredible!  This little gem does the most amazing job at removing makeup and exfoliating the skin.  I am a firm believer that EXFOLIATION is one of the most important steps in a skincare routine!!!  Not only for your skin to absorb the products you apply post exfoliation but also for skin renewal and anti-aging.  EXFOLIATION IS A MUST!!

When you get the skin super clean and super smooth with exfoliation, not only do your other skincare products absorb better, but your makeup applies sooooooooo much more beautifully, with so much more ease and flawlessness.

I have the Clarisonic Mia 2.  For those of you who have never used a cleansing brush like this before…it works on a timer, so the instructions are to do 20 seconds on the forehead, 20 seconds on the nose and chin area and 10 seconds on each cheek.  The Mia 2 has two speeds – the faster one will just give a more vigorous exfoliation if you’re in need of a bit of deeper clean or like there is more build-up of dead skin cells that need removal.  I used the sensitive brush heads but if you go to the Clarisonic website, you can see that they have multiple brush heads for various purposes as well as multiple brushes to choose from.

OMG.  This moisturizer is the bomb!!!  This is a wet skin moisturizer with a premise that just showered skin absorbs moisture better.  This moisturizer is oil-infused and will adhere to the residual moisture left on the skin from the shower and will better absorb into the skin as opposed to putting lotion on dry skin.  Whether this is true or not, I am telling you that this moisturizer is awesome.  I put this on when I am still damp from the shower and 8 hours later my skin is still hydrated and smooth.  I bought the coconut oil one because I love the smell of coconut but they also have an argon oil version if you’re not a fan of coconut scent.  The other great thing about this moisturizer is that I apply it right after shaving and I don’t have any issues with razor burn or ingrown hairs from it.  Love this product.

I have been watching a few you tube makeup tutorials from Teni Panosian.  I love this girl.  She is so beautiful, super knowledgeable and not pretentious in the slightest.  She has a blog called Miss Maven which I linked here and she does regular makeup tutorials including drug store makeup tutorials for those on a budget!  In a few of her drugstore tutorials she has mentioned this blush multiple times so I thought I would give it a go.  Love it.  I love how it applies and I love the colors.  I bought the color 03 Berry Amore – it’s a bronzy, golden pink color and it’s gorgeous for a summer.  They have another beautiful pink color called Dolce Pink that I am going to try next.

My girlfriend recommended this lip color to me for its long lasting capabilities and beautiful matte finish.  I bought the color ‘Honey 001’ for a pretty summer pink and it is just perfect for that.  The color lasts for a few hours and it has a buttery smooth consistency that doesn’t dry out and flake like some lip stains.  There are a lot of great colors for this product as well for whatever kind of lip you’re going after.

I used this tinted moisturizer, sunscreen all summer long last summer and loved it.  Especially if you don’t want to apply daytime makeup, this moisturizer is amazing.  It has just hint of tint to give you a sheer coverage.  It is SPF 50 so it will give you the sun protection you need as well.  The texture is super smooth and velvety and I love how it applies.  I apply this in lieu of moisturizer after cleansing, exfoliating and toning and it does the job of moisturizing and giving me that hint of tint.

I picked this up the other day to try a contour stick versus powder contouring which I have been using and I am super impressed with this.  The application is so easy and the color is awesome.  One side of the stick is the contour brown color and the other side is the highlight color.  I really liked how this applied on my post-swim-a-little-bit-drier skin.  Sometimes if my skin is a bit on the dry side, powder contours can be a little more challenging to blend and apply and can accentuate the dry areas on the cheeks.  They have a few different color options for this product and I purchased it in 015 -Medium.

So there ya have it!  Just a few beauty items I am loving right now.  If you liked this post, let me know and I will do more like this one as I am always trying new makeup and skincare products.  Also, if you are liking my blog, feel free to like and subscribe!
