Today you turn 2. It amazes me how quickly time passes…
I’ve enjoyed every moment of these past 2 years with you and continue to feel a profound sense of joy in my heart that I’ve been give the opportunity to be your mother.
It is THE GREATEST BLESSING to watch your beautiful soul experience the world around you, as you simultaneously leave your bold mark on it.
Already at 2 years old, you have a fiery spirit and a cheeky yet charming presence. You boldly tell your “brudder” how things are going to be, walk with sassy self-assuredness and impress with your keen observation skills and expanding vocabulary.
The other day, I apathetically asked you what the neighbour was doing as he was banging on his trailer with a hammer, expecting you to say something like, “I don’t know?” But instead, you looked at me with an expression that said, ‘isn’t it obvious?’ and said, “He’s fixing his truck.”
You are funny and bright and goofy, audaciously pulling out your best dance moves on the most random occasions (middle of the grocery store or right before a bath).
I don’t know how many times Emmett and I have both looked at each other and burst into laughter over the things you do and say.
You adore your brother. You ask for him first thing in the morning. You regularly advise him (much to his irritation) that you are “the boss”. You aggravate him just enough to teach him tolerance and strengthen my patience, yet you are innately tender. You possess a generous heart and easily share your snacks, toys, hugs and kisses.
My beautiful girl, you are kind and loving and affectionate in such a big way.
You make me so proud.
